These poems are dark like mrs. colmen said they would be but they are very good. It is interesting how they came out to be from words scrambled together.

God will set you free

The dark, silent soldiers stood at the gate
Six men with pride
Backs to the wall facing the crowd
Work will set you free

The men stood in silence
With strange smiles on their faces
The crowd stood in horror looking up at there loved ones
Work will set you free

They where smiles of contentment
The soldiers raised their guns and fired
God will set you free

The Death

The crowd was protesting.
Six men screamed at the sky.
The soldiers marched off with one boy.
He was my brother.
I wanted to cry.
Out came ten birds from the woods.
They are to be a witness of the dead bodies.
The air was silent.

A Defiant Witness

All except herself feared them.
One choice might carry honor and death.
Protesting work did not do.
She heard a crowd moaning,
One hand raised, crying for God.
Bodies were lined up face to face.
One smiled as the guns sounded.
A wall stood behind, covered with dark stains.

Listen to your Heart

           The screeching sound, guns whistled
                   Six men lined up
             Wall pocked, hole, dark stains
             Feared of protesting, screams
Her face horrow, sorrow his kiss
               A wail, loved, dead bodies
               Soliers dragged, the stack
           Crying witnesses, work wooden spoons
               Loud voice, whispered pride!
                  God's canopy awaits!

God Above

The crowd gathered because they had no ohter choice

With a shrill whistle the guns roared, drowning out the protesting screams

Crying aloud the crowd pierced the air with screams of sorrow and horror

The soldiers raise their guns and the crowd is silent

They are witnesses as the dead bodies are carried away, leaving only dark stains behind

A clear voice cries out to god above

The Sky

The six men were lined with their backs to the wall with holes and dark stains.
One alone smiled.
Slowly the soldiers raised their guns,
And the men began in clear voices, with a
Note of Hysteria
“Shema Yisreal, Adonai Eloheyu…”
But one was silent,
That same strange smile on his face.
Birds cried out merrily, and the tops of trees
Danced to the rhythms. At last his lips moved,
“The Sky is our Canopy,”
With no sign of sorrow or horror,
Just conscious tenderness and pride.
There was a protesting from the crowd,
An undercurrent of moaning.
He put his fingers to his lips,
“The Sky.”
The guns roared,
And the loud volley drowned out the birdsong.

God’s Canopy

“Move them to the wall” said the Commander.
“Silence!”
“If you are silent, I will let you watch.”
They were all silent.
Not because they wanted to watch,
but because they wanted to witness.
“The sky is our canopy. God’s canopy.”
“Let them go up the stack.”
The soldiers began to drag the dead
bodies back toward the gate.
The blokova came forward soon after,
smiling menacingly.
The wooden spoon hung, with which
she dealt out blows.
“Schnell. Schnell.
There is much work to do.”

Death’s Wall
To the wall...
The six damned men were moved.
The crowd was silent...
Dark stains and holes covered the wall.
Guns raised, the soldiers drowned out all screams, wind, and birdsong...
Birds merrily cried out. They fell...
Carry your loved ones.
Silent, Silent

Horror Filled World

Move Brother, Dead Bodies,
Loud screams kissed the sky,
Soldiers feared them, mourned them
Horror, Guns, Sorrow,
Grim hysteria loved them,
They drowned searching witnesses,
Silence, Protesting suddenly,
Awful, choice, dealt,
Crying pride, they dragged flinging,
Drag guns work strange rhythms,
Tenderness voice, Watch!
Whispered, Scum
